Jeannette “Net-Net” Sorrell, age 68, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on Wednesday (December 4, 2019) at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton, Ohio.
Jeannette was born on March 19, 1951, to William Bradley and Lucy Margaret Sparks Sorrell in Dayton, Ohio.
Jeannette graduated from Richmond Practical Nursing School, now known as Ivy Tech Community College, in Richmond, Indiana in 1969.
From there, she took a position at Reid Hospital in 1970. Jeannette worked in many different areas of the hospital during her 36-year career but ended her time at Reid in 2006 working for the Orthopedic Unit. From there she decided to move south and moved to Florida and became a hospice nurse for two years before she decided it was time to move back home and be closer to her family. Jeannette moved back to Ohio in 2013 and decided to retire however her caring spirit continued long after her retirement.
Survivors include brother Lawrence Bradley (Becky) Sorrell; nieces and nephews Mabel Ann Fletcher, Robert William Lux, Dustin Lee (Jeff) Wilsor, Carley Ann (Matt) Brewster, Stephen Bradley Sorrell and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Joyce Ann Lux.
Services for Jeannette will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Jeannette’s name can be made to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420).
