Nearly 30 local youth-focused organizations and schools have received grants.

Stamm Koechlein Family Foundation’s board recently awarded $270,000 to enhance community vitality in Indiana, California, North Carolina and Missouri.

The 2023 grant cycle brings the foundation’s total giving to more than $4.3 million since 2001.

The board also has invested more than $25,000 in local nonprofit education and development. This distribution aligns with their goals to “build, strengthen and sustain community life by bringing opportunity to youth.”

Local funded partners are: Amigos, Birth to Five, Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, Bridges for Life, Cardinal Greenway, Centerville High School Drama Club, Communities In Schools, Cope Environmental Center, Girls Inc. of Wayne County, Indiana University East Center for Service Learning, Joseph Moore Museum, Every Child Can Read, Richmond Art Museum, Richmond Civic Theatre’s Stage One, Richmond Meltdown Ice Festival, Richmond Parks Department’s Just Us Kids Outdoors, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, The Reid Center, Wayne County Historical Museum and Women’s Workshop Richmond.

Grants were made to several area schools including Community Youth Services, Fairview, Vaile, Charles, Crestdale, Starr, Westview and Richmond Friends School.

“What a great joy it is for my family to carry out the Foundation’s mission of philanthropic giving and provide support to so many service organizations that are fulfilling vital work in the community,” said Monica Koechlein, SKFF president, in a news release. “I’m so proud that the board prioritizes learning and supports opportunities to strengthen leadership. It definitely leads to greater impact!”
