Hagerstown earned a berth in the Little League Indiana state tournament Monday, July 10 by defeating New Castle Green by the score of 13-8 in the title game.

Cousins Owen and Jace Hale shared the pitching duties. They pitched well and they had plenty of offensive support. Corbin Bulmer, Jase Cowan and Palmer Ward each went two-for-two at the plate and combined to score seven runs. Keegan McCormick made several key defensive plays.

Coach Ryan Cowan called it a complete team win in comments after the game.

“We are really scoring runs,” Cowan said. “We are hitting the ball all up and down the lineup, and I am confident that we can play with any team in the state. We will find out quickly how good we are the way the draw came out.”

Hagerstown now advances to the Indiana state tournament to be played in Brownsburg at Arbuckle Acres Park. Their first game will be Thursday, July 20 at 1 p.m. against the team representing District 8.
