Whitewater Valley REMC Community Trust awarded grants to 13 local organizations from its second-quarter applications.
Here are the grant recipients, amounts and projects funded:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County: $750, art supplies for annual show.
Centerville Senior High School After Prom: $500 for safe and fun environment
Centerville Senior High School Drama Club: $500 for microphones for drama club and music department
Earlham College for Chanticleer String Quartet: $500, interactive musical performances for elementary students
Fountain City Police Department: $1,000, replacement and programming of new radios
Hope Center: $500, sexual risk avoidance program “I Decide For Me” for middle and high school students
Alquina Blue Arrows Park: $1,000, renovation of outdoor basketball court
Randolph County Literacy Coalition: $500, books for elementary students
Randolph County Youth Leadership Council: $500, scholarships and student leadership conference
Community Care in Union County: $750, preschool gardening program
Imagination Library of Union County: $500, books for preschoolers
Play in the Park (West College Corner): $300, bus transportation for 10 field trips because new playground at the Grove in College Corner is not yet complete
Safe Passage: $1,250, domestic and sexual violence support services
