CAMBRIDGE CITY- Sandra K. “Sandi” DeBruler, 48, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of January 4, 2017. Sandi was born in New Castle, Indiana on March 12, 1968. She lived most all of her life in the Cambridge City-Western Wayne community and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1986. She earned and associate degree from Ivy Tech and was employed by Finance Systems in Richmond. Sandi was a member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 Women’s Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. In her leisure, Sandi enjoyed playing Farmville, reading and the company of her cats.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Merle E. DeBruler. They were married on June 29, 1990 in Connersville at the covered bridge in Robert’s Park; her mother, Carolyn Sue (Moistner) Rayburn of Dublin; 3 children, Nathan D. DeBruler and Donyel (Cameron Hendrix) DeBruler all of Cambridge City and Derrek (Acacia) DeBruler of New Castle; 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Christian Crail, Taylor, Cayden, Kayley, Jaylen and Chayse DeBruler; 1 great grandson, Benjamin; 5 siblings, Eddie Herbert Jr. of New Mexico, Scott Herbert of Colorado, Susan Dixon of New Paris, OH, Eric Triplitt of Cambridge City, Bobby Rayburn of Spiceland; 2 step sisters, Carolyn Grey Rayburn of Lewisville and Becky Reed of rural Connersville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sandi was preceded in death by her father, Gordan Rayburn on April 5, 2013; infant brother, Donald Leroy Herbert in 1963; grandparents, Walter and Elizabeth Moistner and Gladys Ramsey.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6 p.m. on Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Jim Noggle will officiate. Following cremation, burial will be at the West Side Cemetery in Milton.
