Richmond Police Department responded to a report of shots fired that resulted in a man being flown for medical treatment.
A call reporting the shots came in around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 from the 1400 block of Dawn Court on Richmond’s northeast side. Arguing was reported to be heard before the shots, said Capt. Curt Leverton of RPD’s Investigative Services Division, which also responded to the scene. Once officers were on scene, they reported hearing one gunshot.
Jacob French, 34, of Richmond was located outside with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to Reid Health and later flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The injury was reported as non-life-threatening, but his condition Tuesday was unknown.
Richmond Fire Department and medics assisted at the scene.
