A Richmond teen has been arrested and faces a preliminary charge of attempted murder after a shooting on the city’s far-east side.
Shortly before 9:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, second-shift patrol officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Commerce Road near the state line after a report of a shooting.
The area is home to some restaurants, recreation spots and visitor lodging near Interstate 70.
Officers located Christopher Lambert, 21, of Richmond, with a gunshot wound to the arm and leg.
Lambert was transported to Reid Health and reported to be in stable condition, according to Capt. Curt Leverton of RPD’s Investigative Services Division.
Investigators were called to the scene to assist. The scene was processed and evidence was collected, Leverton said.
Javon Lee Moore, 18, of the 1500 block of South J Street in Richmond, was arrested during the investigation at 2:16 a.m. Saturday, according to jail records.
Moore now faces a preliminary charge of attempted murder, which is a Level 1 felony. He was still incarcerated as of Saturday morning.
Richmond Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Indiana State
Police assisted on scene.
