Richmond Police Department and the Reid Center are seeking clues after the two original 1906 metal lamps at the entrance to the historic Richmond landmark were reported stolen.
The lamps had been visible outside the Reid Center, 1004 N. A St., Richmond, along the North 11th street side.
According to a news release, board members say they’re doing everything they can to locate the lamps. Those with information that could help solve the case are asked to please contact RPD at 765-983-7247. The case number is RP26-01863.
Free tours of the historic building are available from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 12. Local historian and board member Sue King tells the story of entrepreneur Daniel Reid and his donation of what was originally called Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.
The interior was designed entirely by Tiffany Studios of New York City. Every window in the building is a Tiffany window.
In recent years, the building has found new life as a performance venue and community center.
