Smarrelli General Contractor will roof 14 Richmond Parks and Recreation buildings.
During its May 28 meeting, the Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety approved a $311,090 contract for Smarrelli to provide 13 metal roofs for parks buildings and a polycarbonate roof for the department’s greenhouse.
The board of works awarded Smarrelli the bid during its April 30 meeting. Smarrelli bid $125,000 for the special greenhouse roof and $186,090 for the metal roofs. Central Structures of Greenville, Ohio, and Whisenhunt Construction of Richmond also submitted bids.
Street closings
The board approved a pair of street closings.
The 700 block of North 13th Street will be closed from 4 to 10 p.m. June 13 for the celebration of life for Michaela Brown, and the service alley east of Veterans of Foreign Wars Kirk-Little Post 1108 will be closed 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4 for safe pedestrian traffic during a car show.
