Von Walker Henry Loop, our beloved brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 11, 2026. He was 90 years old.
He was born November 11, 1935, in Richmond, Indiana, to Keith Henry Loop and Mildred Irene Hawkins.
Von was a man of many talents. He learned his golfing skills by caddying at a nearby golf course every day after school for pocket change and learned the golfers’ techniques. He joined the Richmond High School golf club and won many tournaments.
After graduation from Richmond High School, Von joined the Air Force and served his country for four years, then came back to Richmond to live.
He always loved music and was hired at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Richmond and taught all kinds of dancing.
Later Von decided to head out west to visit our dad, Keith Loop, in Arizona. He loved it so much he decided to stay there.
After many years, he moved north to Prescott, Arizona, where he taught golf. He was very creative with woodworking and made many things, including porch furniture to sell. Von had an amazing singing voice even into his later years. While living in the retirement facility, Von would sing the Lord’s Prayer before meals in the cafeteria for the residents. His voice sounded like Dean Martin and they loved it.
Von lived a healthy lifestyle and was a lifelong vegetarian, which probably helped him to reach the age of 90.
Von is survived by his sisters Verna Loop Webb and Regina Loop Nolte, both from Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his only child, a daughter, Diana Loop Franklin, who died at the age of 35 years old.
Von Walker Henry Loop will be buried in Prescott, Arizona, in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
