Forrest C. Tevis, Sr. passed away at his residence around 4:00 AM on January 20th, 2023.  He was born November 27th, 1941, the son of Forrest C. Tevis and Fannie Smith/Robinson, in Richmond, Indiana.

Forrest was a resident of Richmond, Indiana, and a member of the Church of Christ.  He attended Richmond Community Schools and was retired from Dana Corporation.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting and working on cars.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years: Edith Tevis; children; one daughter: Teresa Brown of Richmond; five sons: Forrest “Chip” Tevis of Detroit, MI, Kenneth James Tevis (Erika) of Richmond, Forrest C. Tevis, Jr. of Richmond, Timothy Tyrone Tevis of Richmond, and Andre Tamar Tevis of Richmond; adopted son: Lou Quintero (Glen and Alaina); eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three sisters: Anita Long of Richmond, Sonnie Lee of California, and Regina Smith-Nichols; two brothers: Michael Tevis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brock Tevis of Richmond; and a host nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Sondra Ann Tevis; a brother: RueMonte Tevis, Sr; and his mother and father-in-law: Regina and James Jerrell.

The family gives special thanks to all who knew and loved him.  Our apologies for any loved one who wasn’t mentioned; you were not forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 12 Noon, with Brother Jake Mabry officiating.  Family and friends may call Saturday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Earlham Cemetery.  Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com
