Duane Andrew Grimm, 52, of Connersville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 4, 2023 while on vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

He was born May 22, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland to Raymond Grimm, Sr. and Linda K. King Hunter. Duane attended Connersville High School where he participated in the welding vocational program.

A talented carpenter, he was most recently employed for Strong Construction. Previously, he had worked for Wholesale Carpet and Keener Corporation.

A jack of all trades, Duane loved to work with his hands and tinker. Always looking for things to fix, he enjoyed staying busy. He also loved going out in the woods hunting for ginseng and mushrooms.

In his leisure, he enjoyed listening to Classic Rock.

A people person, Duane had many friends and was well-liked. He was a goofball, always cracking jokes and trying to cheer people up. He had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party.

Most of all, Duane was a loving father, son, uncle, and brother.

Survivors include his father, Raymond (Kathy) Grimm Sr. of California; his mother, Linda K. Hunter of Connersville; two children, Gerilyn Grimm and McKennen Grimm, both of Connersville; two bonus children whom he helped raise, Ashley Combs and Brittany Combs, both of Connersville; seven bonus grandchildren; four siblings, Karen (Paul) Fizer of Virginia, Raymond “Lee” (Misty) Grimm Jr. of Connersville, Jack Ferdon of Cambridge City, and Alisha Roberts of Connersville; two uncles, Johnny Grimm of Kansas and George Grimm of Pennsylvania; four aunts, Elner Santo of Georgia, Carol Harker and Wilma “Sis” Walters, both of Maryland, and Linda Burns of Connersville; a special nephew, Lastin Davis, who was like a son; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Emma Jean Grimm; maternal grandparents, Howard and Margaret Hoke; three uncles, Charlie Santo, Fred Walters, and William “Billy” Burns; and a grandchild.

Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Strong officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery.
