Barbara May Cronk, 87, of New Castle, passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at The Addison Place.
She was born on October 16, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ostie and Mary Frances Taylor.
Barbara was a 1953 graduate of New Castle High School. She married the love of her life, Jack Cronk, on March 18, 1955. She was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, and bookkeeper.
Barbara was an excellent golfer and also enjoyed bowling. She loved her livestock and all animals, especially her dog, Charlie. She greatly enjoyed the fellowship in her women’s club in Kennard, going to breakfast with her friend, Maxine Morton, and other friends, and vacationing in the warmth of Florida. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory include her husband of 68 years, Jack Cronk; a son, Jay (wife: Kim) Cronk of New Castle; five grandchildren, Kristi (Jordan) Becker of Pendleton, Cory (Emily) Cronk of New Castle, Luke (Taylore) Cronk of New Castle, Lauren Cronk of Los Angeles, CA; and Leanna (Josh) Lome of New Castle; five great-grandchildren, Emerson Taylor Becker, Collins Becker, Ella Cronk, Lane Cronk, and baby Cronk on the way; a former daughter-in-law, Nila Miller-Cronk of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kim Cronk in 2020, and three brothers, Dale, Paul, and Alton Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
