Richard Lee Huddleston, 80, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on January 20, 2018. He was born November 17, 1937 in Richfield, Utah to the late Howard and Marie Huddleston from Cambridge City.
Richard served as a Marine, he was a long time member of the Hagerstown American Legion Post 33 and former Commander for two years, was on the Hagerstown Volunteer Fire Department in 1967 and he was a general contractor mostly in Hagerstown and Florida. He worked for T & F Construction (building sub-stations), F F & W Construction, Leck Tabor Construction (Built several things), moved to Florida where he worked on draw bridges and later became the foremen for First Florida Development on Sewell’s Point on Hutchinson Island (building million dollar homes). He loved to fish, hunt, hunt mushrooms, NASCAR, and watch American Pickers and football.
He is survived by his wife: Dorrene Huddleston; son: Corey Thomas; daughters: Heather and Amber Huddleston; brothers: Norman and Howard (Leah) Huddleston; sisters: Beulah Rogers, Dorothy Centers and Debbie Gorman. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Special caregivers Rachael Miller and Tina Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Dawn Huddleston and grandson: Brent Huddleston.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 7:00pm at Community Family Funeral Home, where calling hours will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www.communityfamilyfh.com
